George Miller Says He'd Be Willing To Pass The Keys To 'Mad Max' On To Another Director

While George Miller continues to talk about the further adventures of Mad Max he already has cooking, he won’t be returning the dusty, apocalyptic world anytime soon. He wants to make a very small movie next, and given that Warner Bros. has yet to officially weigh in one way or another about a followup to "Mad Max: Fury Road," better to keep working than wait for something that might not happen. Moreover, at 70 years old, Miller might want to put his feet up at some point, or try his hand at other artistic endeavors. So would he be comfortable passing the "Mad Max" torch to someone else?

"Yeah, of course," he told Studio 360

"People are directing younger and younger, they’re getting a real sense of cinema very, very early, and there’s some great directors out there," he said. "You see films every day and you know it’s a good film because you get excited by the possibility of cinema. You walk out of the movies thinking, ‘Oh, anything’s possible!’"

Of course, whether or not another filmmaker can capably step into the big shoes Miller has established with ‘Fury Road’ remains to be seen, but he thinks the talent is out there.
