Greenwich International Film Festival Hires New Executive Director Colin Stanfield

The recently launched Greenwich International Film Festival (GIFF) has appointed Colin Stanfield as its new Executive Director.

Now in its second year, Stanfield is just what the festival needs, with his broad and extensive experience as Festival Producer for the Film Society of Lincoln Center’s Film Festival, Managing Director of the San Francisco Film Society and Executive Director of the Nantucket Film Festival

Of his new position, Stanfield said, “I am honored to be joining an organization that I very much admire. I am truly inspired by the work the Greenwich International Film Festival has done, the merging of films, finance and philanthropy is inspiring and I am excited to be on board.”
The festival launched June 2015, in Greenwich, Connecticut, and included films like the Sarah Silverman drama “I Smile Back,” Oren Moverman’s “Time Out of Mind,” the Colin Hanks-directed documentary “All Things Must Pass” and the festival hit “The Overnight.” In addition to promoting film and the visual arts through its annual festival and year-round programming, GIFF also takes on a philanthropic role and is committed to supporting a new cause each year.
This year’s festival is set to take place June 9-12 and is currently taking submissions, with their deadline extended from January 1 to January 31, in honor of their new Executive Director. Filmmakers can use special entry discount code, COLINGIFF2016, when submitting a film to receive $10 off.
