Welcome to the wild, Wuxia-filled world of Hou Hsiao-Hsien’s “The Assassin,” where a nun expertly trains an abducted woman in martial arts so that she may one day murder the man she is arranged to marry and finally confront her heritage.

After tearing up the international festival circuit last year, the acclaimed martial arts drama is coming to DVD and Digital HD later this month, and distributor Well Go USA has just dropped an exclusive behind-the-scenes video that puts the dazzling fight choreography front and center.

“The Assassin” marks something of a comeback for the Taiwanese director. After an eight year hiatus from making movies, he returned with this film at Cannes last May and won the Best Director prize. “The Assassin” also cleaned up at last year’s Golden Horse Film Festival, winning Best Director, Best Feature Film, Best Cinematography, Best Makeup & Costume Design and Best Sound Effects.

Take a look at the exclusive clip above. The movie hits home video on January 26.
