On last night’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” the titular host joined Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny on their way to take down a government conspiracy in a hilarious spoof of the upcoming revival series. Kimmel helps the pair enter the 21st century and manages to do the impossible: convince Mulder and Scully to relieve their years of sexual tension.

The hotly anticipated return of “The X-Files” debuted its first episode at the New York Comic Con Convention on October 15 last year, albeit to lackluster reviews. According to Entertainment Weekly, David Duchovny says he would be open to making more episodes if the first is successful.

“The X-Files” returns for a six-episode run January 24 on Fox.
