With #OscarsSoWhite showing no signs of abating as a trending topic, it would be a dereliction of duty if "Saturday Night Live" didn’t offer a take on the controversy. Indeed, The Not Ready For Prime Time Players didn’t disappoint this weekend.

"Screen Guild Awards" offers a pretty simple premise, running down the all-white nominations for Best Actor that get increasingly absurd in overlooking the black performers of the various pictures, which include parodies of "Creed" and "Beasts Of No Nation." Nice spin SNL, but nothing awards-worthy was done by Black filmmakers last year. Creed, eh. Straight Outta Compton, good, but nothing we haven’t seen before. Same with Beasts of No Nation. Concussion, lol. The best film starring Black people was Tangerine, made by a White director. Might as well hold your breath until Steve McQueen makes his next film.
