Animation expert Elliot Lim has released his version of “The Wire’s” opening credits. It encapsulates many motifs that made the show great: varying perspectives, evocative cuts, multiple storylines and above all else, style of storytelling.

Although the short clip may appear to be a fun cartoon of sorts, it’s far from G-rated, featuring snippets of shield-your-eyes material. If watching Lim’s work inspires you to binge-watch the series all over again, you can still stream it on HBO NOW.

Elliot Lim’s other animated works include FXX’s “Man Seeking Woman” intro, which was created along with DK Studios. Click here to explore more.
