This seems like one of the many technical categories where “Mad Max: Fury Road” could be considered a frontrunner, but the exhilarating energy of “The Big Short” might just be enough to take the win.

And on a side note, Sixel’s work in Mad Max is far too innovative to win an Oscar. I think Fury Road can expect some frustrating snubs. But then again, they’re the Oscars, you wait twenty years and no one’ll give a damn. Anyone remember The Great Ziegfield?

Wait, Inñaritu hired an editor? Also, I think Sicario has a good chance at this one. The intensity of the cutting tends to be more noticeable in action movies, and Sicario’s taut as hell.
