'In Bruges' Director Martin McDonagh's 'Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri' Starts Shooting This Spring

Say the words “In Bruges,” and you’ll see the eyes light up among a certain set of cinephiles. Martin McDonagh‘s blackly funny cult film has earned him a following, and while his followup “Seven Psychopaths” wasn’t quite as winning (though it has its champions too), the writer/director’s unique voice is always one to keep an eye on. And once again, he has a great new movie coming with a great premise, and terrific title.

Film4 and Fox Searchlight Pictures are teaming up for Martin McDonagh‘s “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.” Last fall, Frances McDormand was said to be starring in the movie, and described the plot. “It’s about a 50-year-old woman, whose daughter is murdered, and she goes to war with the police in her home town because she thinks they are more interested in torturing black people than getting justice,” McDormand explained. And wow, that sounds absolutely intense.

There’s no mention of McDormand in the release sent to press, but we’ll likely know more soon, as production is gearing up to start in April.

To the first responder, yes your tax money does pay for criminals retirements as well you idiot. It’s called being in jail or on welfare. To the second responder, no I haven’t seen the movie but the log line for it reads they don’t care to solve a murder because they are too busy torturing black people! Whaaaat? Like torturing them in dungeons? If there is more to it than that, they should’ve written a better description. And to the third responder, how am I an asshole exactly? You don’t even know me.

Buggery Bollocks

racist or not, you’re still an asshole.

Well, as long you’ve already seen the film and know enough about it to make comments, please enlighten us. What’s that? Haven’t see it because it hasn’t even been made yet? Thought so.

Nobody fucking asked you to retards "lay down your lives" The world is fucked and anyone who thinks they can make it a better place should be locked up with all the other crazies of the world. The biggest different between a cop and a criminal is that I don’t have to pay for a criminal’s retirement with my tax payer dollar. Who asked you to be a cop? You’re not noble. You and your brothers and sisters are a bunch of jackasses who thought they could fix a broken society.

Btw, I’m typing my comments while waiting to book my second prisoner of the day into jail. Both were white. Yup, racist here!

Yes I am. I guess you can lump me in with the Coen brothers then. Sorry if my above comment was in jest due to the plot of this movie. Taking aim at a profession where its employees lay down their lives for citizens just doesn’t sit well with me. Go figure.

Circus, given your fairly consistent comments on this website: you’re totally ok with being a transparent racist? DIdn’t i once read you say that you were a cop? That would be sad.

Probably a black person who murdered her daughter.
