StarStream Appoints Lauren Russell as VP of Production and Development

Television and motion picture production and financing company StarStream has promoted Lauren Russell to Vice President of Production and Development. 

Russell has been a key figure in bringing three productions to this year’s Sundance Film Festival, including Jeff Beana’s “Joshy,” Kevin Smith’s “Yoga Hosers” and Frankie Shaw’s short film “Too Legit.” Prior to joining StarStream, Russell produced several short films and web series. She’s worked as the assistant to StarStream CEO Kim Leadford for the past two years.

“In this short period of time, Lauren has optioned a script that made it onto the Black List (‘Big Time Adolescence’), helped produce 3 films and 1 television pilot, closed a complicated debt deal and became a steady force in helping to shape the company’s operations,” said Leadford in an official statement. “This year, Lauren is producing Jason Orley’s ‘Big Time Adolescence’ with Mason Novick and Michelle Knudsen, while, also assisting StarStream’s executive team with building out its distribution and television businesses.”

Other credits produced by StarStream include “Life of Crime” and “Life After Beth.”
