Perhaps it’s not a surprise that for a movie that spent years and years in development, nearly getting made but continually pushed back and reworked, there’s a lot of knowledge out there about the “Deadpool” movie that could’ve been. We know the budget was slashed resulting in action scenes getting removed, and that the filmmakers had to clear with 20th Century Fox who they could and couldn’t use from the Marvel roster in their movie. Regardless of those hurdles, “Deadpool” turned out to be a monster hit, and a new video essay digs deeper into the various iterations of the movie.
Mr Sunday Movies has put together the video essay, which dives into the deleted scenes, rejected characters, and jokes that were snipped from the flick. And it’s interesting stuff, revealing sequences from early drafts that were left behind, including Wade Wilson traveling around the world to try and find a cure for his mutation, and a failed series of suicide attempts. And there’s more on various villains and more that didn’t make their way into the movie, too. It’s packed with great info, and fans will certainly want to give it look. Check it out below.
