Pee-wee Herman hasn’t headlined a feature film since 1988’s "Big Top Pee-wee," but that’s all about to change next month with the release of "Pee-wee’s Big Holiday," which finds our lovable character hitting the road in an epic adventure full of bank robbers, snake farms and religious communes.
Written by its star Paul Reubens and directed by John Lee, the film will make its debut first at the annual South By Southwest Film Festival in mid-March, before becoming available to stream on Netflix beginning March 18.
The official synopsis reads: "In ‘Pee-wee’s Big Holiday,’ a fateful meeting with a mysterious stranger inspires Pee-wee Herman to take his first-ever holiday in this epic story of friendship and destiny."
The film also stars Joe Manganiello ("Magic Mike") and Alia Shawkat ("Arrested Development"). Watch the official trailer above.
