For its fourth year, the Locarno Film Festival’s spring event L’immagine E La Parola (“The Picture and The Word”) will run this March, complete with a special focus on celebrating the realm of the graphic novel.

Masters of short animation tales such as “Il Signor Spartaco,” “Murmur,” “Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde” and “El Rumor De La Escarcha” Blutch and Lorenzo Mattotti have coordinated the four day mini-festival to bring comic artistry to the forefront. The festival will feature various screenings, creative labs, discussions and masterclass for both aspiring and established artists and writers.

The event will conclude with the international premiere of Werner Herzog’s latest work, “Lo and Behold, Reveries of the Connected World.” The documentary, which was recently well-reviewed at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, outlines the ramifications that the internet has had on human relationships. Herzog invites audiences to question the future generation’s dependence on the internet; news that has been ironically brought to you thanks to the internet.
