Mere days after announcing that Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s highly anticipated animated comedy "Sausage Party" would be showing at this month’s SXSW Film Festival in a work-in-progress capacity, the fest has added yet another work-in-progress screening of an upcoming comedy. Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele’s kitten-centric crime comedy "Keanu" will now show at the festival, guaranteeing at least one must-see event for kitten pals everywhere.
The film’s official synopsis reads: "A mysterious catnapping triggers a chain of events that lead cousins Clarence and Rell into the belly of LA’s criminal underworld. Suburbanites at heart, the hapless pair are ill-equipped to deal with the threats and illegal activities that lie ahead, but they have no choice but to dive in and rescue Rell’s beloved kitten, Keanu." The kitten is kidnapped. Kit-napped, if you will.
The film will screen at Austin’s own Paramount Theatre at 12:30am on Sunday, March 13. To get the best seats in the house, SXSW is recommending that festival-goers get in line before midnight on Saturday night. The screening will be available to attendees with Film, Gold and Platinum badges. You can get more information on the screening from SXSW’s official schedule, right here.
The 23rd South by Southwest Film Festival runs March 11-19 in Austin, Texas.
"Keanu" is set to open on April 29.
