NYC: Don Cheadle in Conversation About all Things 'Miles Ahead' at Lincoln Center Tonight (Free)

For our readers in New York City, an event you may want to check out this evening…

Ahead of the April 1 release of his directorial debut, “Miles Ahead,” Don Cheadle will sit down to talk about what drew him to the renowned jazz trumpeter/bandleader/composer Miles Davis, and the film’s long road to the big screen, some of which we’ve covered on this blog over the years. But it would be great to get the full story from the man himself.

The hour-long conversation takes place tonight at 6:30pm, at the Lincoln Center Amphitheater on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. And it’s a FREE event! Although tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis starting one hour prior to the event. So if you’re interested in attending, you probably should get there very early (I’d say definitely before 5pm), and get in line. The Amphitheater only holds 75 people – at least, that’s what Lincoln Center’s website says.

“Miles Ahead” opens in theaters on April 1. This portrait of Miles Davis set during the late ’70s had its World Premiere as the Closing Night selection of last year’s New York Film Festival, and stars Cheadle in the title role, as well as Emayatzy Corinealdi, Ewan McGregor, Keith Stanfield, and Michael Stuhlbarg.

The film is on my 2017 Oscar predictions list.
