Soloway is slated to direct the film from a script co-written by her and Sarah Gubbins. Though sadly not the gritty Eeyore reboot the world’s been clamoring for, Variety’s report describes the main character as “a woman in a failing marriage who leaves Los Angeles to live on a pot farm in Northern California.”
As it stands, this will be the second post-“Transparent” project for the Soloway-Amazon partnership. Last month, news broke that Soloway had boarded “I Love Dick,” a half-hour TV pilot, also adapted by Gubbins from the similarly-titled Chris Kraus novel.
“Ten Aker Wood” would be the first film for Soloway since 2013’s “Afternoon Delight” (starring “Transparent” cast member Kathryn Hahn, alongside Josh Radnor and Juno Temple), which nabbed her a directing prize at Sundance and an Independent Spirit Award nomination Best First Screenplay.
