Watch: 'The 4%' Furthers The Conversation About The Film Industry's Gender Problem

On March 8th, countries all over the world celebrated International Women’s Day in a variety of ways, highlighting the importance of equality. However, in Hollywood, the film capital of the world, we all know that there is much work left yet to do. To acknowledge the work at hand is a brand new docu-series titled "The 4%: Hollywood’s Gender Problem," which acknowledges the stark number of feature films directed by women in the last thirteen years.
In "The 4%," not only are we presented with facts and statistics that express the tragic difference in numbers between men and women working in the industry, but we also get to hear directly from directors and creative personalities themselves as they shed light on what they have seen themselves. Directed by Caroline Suh, the docu-series works to further enlighten us as we keep the conversation about equality and diversity going, with both male and female industry figures helping catalyze a must needed change in the industry.

Among the interviewees, you’ll find some familiar faces such as Julie Delpy, Kristen Wiig, Anjelica Huston, Mo’Nique, Michael Mann, Toni Colette, America Ferrera, Judd Apatow, James Franco and Paul Feig, to name just a few.

"The 4%: Hollywood’s Gender Problem" is now available to stream on EPIX, and to kick things off, we’ve already got the first episode for you to watch above. Find more details on EPIX.
