You Can’t Escape the Bonds of Love in Shocking New ‘Pet’ Poster

You Can't Escape the Bonds of Love in Shocking New 'Pet' Poster

The SXSW Film Festival’s Midnighter section routinely serves up brutal, bruising and just plain terrifying new features guaranteed to make even the most hardened horror fan cover their eyes, and Carles Torrens’ world premiere “Pet” sounds like a perfect fit for the section, all with a wild twist.

Described as being “in the vein of ‘Hard Candy’ and ‘Gone Girl,'” the film is “a psychological thriller that deals with the themes of identity, loneliness, selflessness and what it means to truly possess another. It’s told through the prism of two isolated people, Seth and Holly, seemingly different yet more similar than they even knew. ‘Pet’ is at its heart a dark love story which examines how much one is willing to sacrifice in the name of love.”

Starring Dominic Monaghan and Ksenia Solo as Seth and Holly, the film takes a seriously twisted look at rekindling old love, centered on Seth literally capturing his former flame Holly and holding her captive, all in an apparent attempt to win back her affection. Now that’s a horror film. However, “Pet” promises to pack a punch, and plenty of surprises await viewers brave enough to take it on.

The film was produced by Nick Phillips and Kelly Wagner at Revolver Picture Company.

“Pet” will next screen today, March 14 at 11PM at Alamo Lamar D. Check out our exclusive poster below. Talk about the chains of love.
