The flow of images and peeks are going to be coming fast and hard in the weeks ahead, as the cinematic world gears up for the Cannes Film Festival— the line-up of which was announced this morning. So we’re going to do our best to keep up, and here’s a few more to make you feel like you’re walking on the Croisette. So let’s get going…
Xavier Dolan‘s “It’s Only The End Of The World” brings together Marion Cotillard, Léa Seydoux, Vincent Cassel, Nathalie Baye, and Gaspard Ulliel, for a picture inspired by the play by Jean-Luc Lagarce, following a writer who returns home after a twelve-year absence to announce his impending death.
Next is Jeff Nichols‘ true story drama “Loving,” which stars Joel Edgerton and Ruth Negga as Richard and Mildred Loving, an interracial couple who married in June 1958, were arrested, thrown into jail, and exiled from the state. For the next nine years, the couple fought for their marriage and the right to return home as a family.
Lastly is Olivier Assayas‘ “Personal Shopper,” starring Kristen Stewart, which follows a young woman, who following the death of her twin brother, seeks to make contact with him.
The Cannes Film Festival runs from May 11-22.
