“Chevalier,” the “buddy movie without buddies,” by director Athina Rachel Tsangari (“Attenberg”) has a new U.S. theatrical trailer.
The film begins with six men on a fishing trip in the middle of the Aegean Sea, who attempt to one-up each other by performing various dangerous and hilarious games to see who the ultimate winner is. Friends will become foes, rivals may become acquaintances, but the thirst to become the victor is strong. At the end of it all, the champion will have the honor to don on his smallest finger the victory ring know as: the Chevalier.
The new clip shows us before-seen scenes with the added scoring system that each men receive for their actions, only this time with minor changes. See the newest trailer above.
The film premiered at the Locarno Film Festival last summer and was screened in the Contemporary World Cinema section at the 2015 Toronto Film Festival. The dark comedy was also crowned the winner of the Best Film award at the 2015 London Film Festival. Last week a new poster was exclusively released by Indiewire- you can check it out below.
“Chevalier” is slated to open in select theaters on May 27.
