Jake Gyllenhaal & Tilda Swinton Start Filming For Bong Joon-Ho’s ‘Okja’

Production is underway for the latest Bong Joon-Ho (“The Host”) directed film, “Okja,” starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Tilda Swinton and Paul Dano.

The film, co-written by Joon-Ho and Jon Ronson, follows the story of Mija, portrayed by Seohyum An, a young girl who risks everything to prevent a powerful company from kidnapping her best friend – who happens to be a monster named Okja. The director had previously stated that the storyline captures the “warm friendship between a country girl and a brute with stories.”

“With ‘Okja’ I want to show the beauty that can exist between man and animal, and also the horror between them,” the “Snowpiercer” helmer said.
