Marion Cotillard And Guillaume Canet Play ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll’

Marion Cotillard And Guillaume Canet Play 'Rock 'n' Roll'

Partners in life, Marion Cotillard and Guillaume Canet have also carried over their relationship into their careers. Canet, who once starred opposite Cotillard in “Love Me If You Dare” before they were together, has directed the actress in the ensemble drama “Little White Lies” and the gritty ’70s-set “Blood Ties.” Now he’s going to do it again, in a picture that offers another creative pivot for the duo.

Rock ‘n’ Roll” will star both Cotillard and Canet, with the latter playing a version of himself in a story that revolves around an actor who decides to change his life when a younger actress tells him he’s falling down the list of “bangable” actors. Gilles Lellouche, Fanny Ardant, Philippe Lefebvre and Yvan Attal round out the cast for what sounds like a breezy comedy, and one that will hopefully poke a bit of fun at the vanity in the moviemaking industry.

The project will be shopped in the Cannes marketplace next month, and I can’t imagine it won’t attract attention from the usual arthouse players. So let’s hope “Rock ‘n’ Roll” tunes up and goes in front of cameras soon. [Screen Daily]

Sounds awful. This Canet doesn’t have a decent film in over a decade. Feel sorry for Cotillard, she doesn’t deserve another unoriginal film with him in her career.

Correction: Cotillard doesn’t have a leading role in this, I read she started shooting Allied in early February so she has a small role in this film. I don’t know why the "excitement" because all films she did with Canet had poor reviews and the last one was also a big box office failure.

so many jealous comment i’ts sad. and correction Cotillars is the lead with canet in this movie. She shoot his whole scenes in january .

OK, she’s leading after shooting for two weeks! Give me a break. But if you’re really right (God knows how), that’s really sad because Canet knew Cotillard had just shot many films, she was about to start shooting Allied and he forced her to do this mediocre project in which she plays herself. That’s disgusting. He cast her at the last minute, that’s very unprofessional.

Sorry but the "jealous" excuse is ridiculous. Nobody is jealous of anyone elodie, people have the right to dislike your idol, deal with it. Besides, jealous of what? His career is nothing to be proud of.
