Season 6 of “Game of Thrones” will, notoriously, not be screened for critics in advance, but eventually they’re going to have to let the world see it — and when they see it, here’s what’s in store.
The above trailer features moments that continue so many stories left unresolved from Season 5, like Arya’s blindness, Jorah’s stone-ness and Tyrion’s thirstiness, while also promising some more action, some more makeouts and yes, plenty of dragons. (Were you worried about any of that?)
There’s no Jon Snow, beyond a shot of his beautiful corpse, but we were prepared for that. The surviving cast members returning this season include Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Alfie Allen, Diana Rigg, Natalie Dormer, Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams, John Bradley, Isaac Hempstead-Wright, Conleth Hill, Jonathan Pryce and Gwendoline Christie. The seeds are sewn for revenge on many counts, with an important reminder of who the real enemies are in Westeros now.
As always with “Game of Thrones,” none of the above makes much sense unless you’re a loyal fan — fortunately, that’s not a problem the show happens to have. The Emmy-winning drama premieres Sunday, April 24 at 9pm. Safe to say, we’ll all be watching.
