“Grace and Frankie” ended with a whopper of a season finale in its debut year, as Frankie (Lily Tomlin) and her ex-husband Sol (Sam Waterston) reunited — physically — despite his committed relationship with Grace’s (Jane Fonda) ex-husband, Robert (Martin Sheen). Anyone wondering if the cat would be kept in the bag on this one gets their answer in the first trailer for Season 2: Nope. Not only does it appear the other ex-couple finds out what happens, but the two mothers have a sit-down with their kids to lay it out for them, too.
Yet, among the many laughs and revelations in the above trailer, one big casting decision stands out: Sam Elliott, recently seen on the Netflix sitcom, “The Ranch,” has joined the ensemble as a love interest for Grace. How that will sit with both Robert and Frankie remains to be seen, but we sure won’t be complaining about seeing more of good ‘ol Sam.
“Grace and Frankie” Season 2 is set to release all its episode May 6. It has already been renewed for Season 3. Watch the trailer above.
