Director Ferne Pearlstein’s new documentary digs into what we define as humor in an increasingly PC time. Pearlstein is known for her other great documentaries like 2004’s “Imelda.”

The Last Laugh” gathers an amalgamation of interviews with famous comedians about what is taboo in humor, featuring the lovable Mel Brooks, Carl Reiner, Sarah Silverman and Gilbert Gottfried. Focusing on the Holocaust, Pearlstein also interviewed several survivors to understand their feelings about the subject, including Renee Firestone, a notable speaker who travels around the world telling her story of endurance.
