'Deadpool' Honest Trailer Features Ryan Reynolds' Wickedly Inappropriate Commentary

“Deadpool”

20th Century Fox

It’s finally here, what everyone has been waiting for: The “DeadpoolHonest Trailer courtesy of Screen Junkies featuring a special appearance by Ryan Reynolds as the bad-mouth anti-hero.

The latest video begins by mocking the Merc with the Mouth’s first appearance in “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” then quickly calls the film “the movie you had to be 17 to see, but 16 to fully appreciate.”

Fox’s hugely successful comic book movie, that never would’ve been made if it wasn’t for someone leaking the footage, turned out to be an unexpected hit and the video lets you know that by comparing the numbers.

“Outgrossing Thor, Captain America, ‘The Amazing Spider-Man,’ ‘Guardians of the Galaxy,’ every ‘X-Men’ movie and ‘Batman v Superman,'” the trailer states that it’s, “likely prompting a new wave of R-rated superhero films.”

Reynolds finally makes his grand entrance by making his usual crude jokes. “Wow, you’re showing up in your own Honest Trailer? That is so meta,” says the voiceover. “Well, it’s kinda my thing. Shall we?” replies the red-suited characters as they begin to dissect the film.

Full of ’90s pop culture references, dick jokes, making fun of superhero genre cliches, a love story and a “conventional by-the-numbers revenge plot we’ve seen a million times before,” the trailer makes no point of going easy on the action flick just because Deadpool is there.

“Hey. I said I liked it in the beginning,” the narrator says as Deadpool starts to mouth off. “I think it’s fair to point out some flaws, too.”

“Deadpool is the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time!” screams Reynolds, “Everyone is sucking my d— now, and you sure as s— should be too.” As he continues to curse and be bleeped, he finally reveals that the reason he is in the video is to promote the release of “Deadpool” on Blu-ray and DVD.
