On last night’s “Full Frontal with Samantha Bee,” Bee took dead aim at crisis pregnancy centers, or pregnancy resource centers, that exist to frighten pregnant women with lies about abortion. In a segment that parodies Orson Welles’ last film “F for Fake,” Patton Oswalt stars as a Welles-like figure who warns the audience of the tricks and hoaxes these fake abortion clinic try to pass off as the truth. These centers often assume the names and logos similar to abortion clinics to lure pregnant women into their facilities. They wish not just to detain them, but according to the president and CEO of the National Abortion Federation Vicki Saporta, they also wish to “con women into thinking they provide the full range of reproductive healthcare services when they absolutely do not.” Watch the segment above.
