Last week’s episode of “Game of Thrones” featured the death of a character that had been with the series since the first season. After Jon Snow (Kit Harington) was found alive by Ser Davos (Liam Cunningham) and Melisandre (Carice Van Houten), he proceeds to execute his assassins – Ser Alliser (Owen Teale), Olly (Brenock O’Connor), Othell Yarwick (Brian Fortune), and Bowel Marsh (Michael Condron) – for treason. Alliser remained unrepentant until the end, claiming he only did what he thought was right for The Watch. (First introduced in the third episode of the first season, Alliser served as a recurring character from the fourth season on.) After the execution, Snow says his Watch has ended and leaves Castle Black.

“Game of Thrones” episodes are available on HBO Go and HBO Now. The series airs Sunday nights at 9pm Eastern only on HBO.
