(Reader, beware: Like winter, spoilers are coming.) Last night’s episode of “Game of Thrones” was, for once, notable not only for its deaths (sorry not sorry, Roose Bolton) but for a certain resurrection that was easy to predict but exciting nevertheless: Yes, the murdered Jon Snow has been brought back to life by Melisandre. As his awakening came in the last few seconds of “Home,” however, we don’t yet know the exact details of his return — though Kit Harrington himself has confirmed that he has a major role to play yet.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the actor said that “It’s a massive season for him, it’s the biggest season for him so far. He features very prominently this season. I was told that when I was told I was coming back — that the season I was coming back for would be my biggest, and that’s quite a lot to take as well.” (Asked what he would say to fans who were duped by the deception, he’s less verbose: “Sorry,” he laughs. “I’d like to say sorry for lying to everyone.”)
As the show nears its endgame, all signs point toward Jon Snow as one of the most viable claimants to the Iron Throne. If a certain fan theory (R+L=J) is correct, he’s the man to beat.
