After making a name for himself by playing Jackie Robinson in “42” and James Brown in “Get On Up,” Boseman joined the world of Marvel by being cast as Black Panther in last month’s “Captain America: Civil War.” His character, the warrior king of a fictional African nation called Wakanda, is set to receive a standalone film in 2018.

Hudlin previously directed “House Party,” “The Ladies Man” and “Serving Sara.” More recently, he’s been active in TV, helming episodes of “New Girl” and “Murder in the First.” Trial lawyer Michael Koskoff is co-writing the screenplay for “Marshall” along with his son Jacob, who wrote “Macbeth.” Production has already begun on the film, which takes place in the lead-up to World War II.
