More details also have risen regarding Mads Mikkelson’s role: In a late April interview, Mikkelsen himself confirmed that he would be playing the father of Felicity Jones’ character Jyn Erso. EW says the his character is “a scientist whose knowledge is sought by both sides,” which suggests — not confirms — that his role may fall in line with other rumors which speculate that he may be involved in the construction of the Death Star, and then be drawn back to the good because of his daughter’s involvement.

Watch the trailer down below. The “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” official synopsis reads: “Resistance fighters (Felicity Jones, Diego Luna) embark on a daring mission to steal the Empire’s plans for the Death Star.”
