‘Everything Wrong With Stargate’ Video Nitpicks The 1994 Sci-Fi Classic Starring Kurt Russell

A comical look at the the film's 134 sins committed by its creators.

Cinema Sins continues with its hilarious “Everything Wrong With…” series, jotting down all the “sins” committed in a popular film. This week, its latest victim is the 1994 sci-fi classic, “Stargate.”

“‘Stargate’ was a movie, then a TV show, and is now being rebooted as a movie series again. Because that’s how awesome it is… to someone. Not us. We find it to be full of sin,” says the teaser in the video.

The 14-minute video jots down its first sins by noting that “stealing on accident is still stealing,” then critiquing it for “ripping off ‘Raiders’ and inspiring the Brendan Fraser ‘Mummy’ movies.” More of the sins explained in the clip include judging the actions taken by James Spader, wondering about Kurt Russell’s character mental health and the questionable actions that the soldiers take in the presence of the aliens. At one point, (and with a tally of over 100 sins), the narrator stops caring about the film’s plot, which prompts him to add a sin for not caring.

In total, the video tallies up 134 sins, with an overall sentence of space racism. Check out the hilarious video below:
