FX Renews ‘Archer’ for Three More Seasons

The hit animated comedy returns for Season 8 in early 2017.

Archer” isn’t going anywhere. The animated comedy has been given a whopping three-season renewal by FX, keeping the show going for at least another 24 episodes.

“Archer” returns in early 2017 for its eight-episode Season 8. The renewal was announced by Nick Grad and Eric Schrier, Presidents of Original Programming, FX Networks and FX Productions, who also struck a new overall deal with producers Floyd County Productions.

Adam Reed and Floyd County Productions created “Archer,” which is executive produced by Reed and Matt Thompson. The new deal keeps the show on FX through its eighth, ninth and tenth seasons – and perhaps more beyond that. Each season is eight episodes.

“We can’t say enough about what Adam, Matt and the entire ‘Archer’ team at Floyd County have done to keep this series so insanely funny and vital through seven seasons,” Grad said.

‘Archer’ centers on a former spy agency turned private investigation firm and the lives of its employees. The show also mined new stories in its move in Season 7 to Los Angeles.
