As if she knew about our love for “Gilmore Girls,” First Lady Michelle Obama had a very productive meeting with none other than Rory Gilmore before she embarked on a tour to promote her “Let Girls Learn” initiative.
In a video shared by the the official “Gilmore Girls” Twitter page captioned, “Just a couple of girls talking about books,” Alexis Bledel, as the beloved Rory, arrives to the White House to give the FLOTUS some book options so she could take on her trip.
“I know you’re going to need a great book to read on your trip, so I brought a few choices,” says Rory to the First Lady. “I didn’t know what mood you’d be in, so I brought all of Shakespeare because you can’t go wrong with the Bard.”
As more novels filled the room, the First Lady continued to hear Rory’s overwhelming amount of options. Thought, the best part was when Rory’s mother, Lorelai, even sent Mrs. Obama a special treat!
The Let Girls Learn initiative was created by the Obamas to educate and empower adolescent girls. You can learn more about it by clicking here.
“Gilmore Girls Revival” is currently in production at Netflix. The four-episode season will reunite Bledel with her TV mom Lauren Graham and the rest of the Stars Hollow family.
