HBO’s “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver” got an assist from Billy Eichner on Sunday when the actor-comedian appeared in a hilarious segment to help explain retirement plans.

Eichner, who you probably know best as Craig from “Parks and Recreation” or Billy from Hulu’s original series “Difficult People,” boiled down the confusing world of retirement saving into a few simple and hilarious takeaways. “Average people like you — and let’s face it you’re very, very average — should probably just invest in low cost index funds and leave it alone,” Eichner said. “You should check on it about as often as you Google whether or not Gene Hackman is still alive: about once a year. And he is! He’s still alive!”

The only other real financial “advice” Eichner shared had to do with stocks and bonds. If that sounds confusing, don’t worry. Once again, Eichner used a movie star as a reference to make things as simple and easy as possible.

“As you get older, gradually shift your investments from stocks to bonds,” he said. “Every time they pick a new James Bond, gradually switch more of your stocks into bonds, then go back to wondering if Daniel Craig is actually attractive.”
