‘Mr. Robot’ To Launch Live After Show; Premiere Will Be Two Back-To-Back Episodes

USA Networks also ups the second season of "Mr. Robot" from 10 episodes to 12 episodes.

Season 2 of “Mr. Robot” just got even better. USA Network announced that the premiere night of the series will include two back-to-back episodes and a new live show, “Hacking Robot.” The one-hour after show will include a behind the scenes look at the Golden Globe Award-winning drama and will air immediately after the two episode season premiere.

Additionally, the network has just added two episodes to the second season, upping the series from 10 to 12 episodes. Creator of the series, Sam Esmail, will be in charge of directing the entire season, which will kick off on July 13.

“The first season of ‘Mr. Robot’ was everything we hoped for – and then some,” said Chris McCumber, President Entertainment Networks, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment. “So it’s no surprise that Sam and team have raised the bar even more in Season 2. From the first moments of the new season, it’ll be clear that audiences are in for something incredibly special and wholly unexpected.”

The extraordinary ride that is ‘Mr. Robot’ continues with a wild Season 2. It’s a brilliant and immersive journey that demands to be watched again and again.”

The second season will pick up 30 days after the now infamous fsociety 5/9 hack on Evil Corp and explore the consequences of that attack as well as the illusion of control. Rami Malek returns as Elliot Alderson, a cyber-security engineer who becomes involved in the underground hacker group fsociety, after being recruited by their mysterious leader portrayed by Christian Slater. 

“Mr. Robot” returns Wednesday, July 13 at 10pm on USA.
