When she’s not co-starring in the HBO series “Vinyl,” actress Olivia Wilde is busy directing music videos for big-deal bands that need A-list talent behind the camera. Case in point: Wilde recently directed a Red Hot Chili Peppers music video for the song “Dark Necessities,” the lead single off of their latest album “The Getaway.” The video features a group of long boarders skating around dark streets and a grocery store, drinking beers, and getting tattoos while the band plays the song in a separate room. Olivia Wilde has appeared in many films and TV show in the past ten years. Her best known work includes her stint on the medical drama “House” playing Dr. Remy “Thirteen” Hadley, as well as her lead role in the Joe Swanberg film “Drinking Buddies.” She has also co-starred in “Tron: Legacy,” “Cowboys & Aliens,” “Rush,” “The Lazarus Effect,” and made a brief appearance in Spike Jonze’s “Her.” Wilde has previously directed a music video for Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros for their song “No Love Like Yours.”
“Vinyl” just wrapped up its first season in April, with HBO renewing the series for a second season to air sometime next year. Meanwhile, the Red Hot Chili Peppers just participated in “The Late Late Show’s” Carpool Karaoke segment with host James Corden.
