Looks like DC Comics is planning for an animated adaptation of its supernatural hero team “Justice League Dark.” Ahead of the July release of “Batman: The Killing Joke,” the site for the British Board of Film Classification shows the additional material section for the animated film which includes an eight-minute featurette titled “A Sneak Peak at Justice League Dark.”

While DC hasn’t officially announced the film, the first looks of “The Killing Joke” and “Justice League: Gods and Monsters” both came from similar online reports like this.

The Justice League Dark is composed of John Constantine, Zatanna, Madame Xanadu, Deadman, Enchantress, and Shade the Changing Man and is meant to be a team that focuses on supernatural and magical threats, not related to the Justice League in anyway. The group was first seen in 2011 and handles situations deemed unfit for the traditional superheroes.

In 2012, rumors circulated that Guillermo del Toro was in talks to direct a live-action adaptation of the dark supernatural characters. The speculations were ultimately debunked and it’s uncertain if there will ever be a live-version. For now, fans will have to patiently wait hear more about the upcoming animated film.
