‘The Strain’ Season 3 Trailer: Corey Stoll Fights For Survival In Insane, Violent Trailer

The series will return for a ten-episode third season on August 28th.

FX’s horror thriller series “The Strain” follows Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll), the New York City head of the Center for Disease Control Canary Team, who are initially called upon to investigate a mysterious viral outbreak that contains ancient, evil strains of vampirism. Soon, Ephraim and his team wage war against these vampires for the fate of humanity. The series also stars David Bradley (“Harry Potter”), Mía Maestro (“Frida”), Kevin Durand (“Smoking Aces”), Jonathan Hyde (“Titanic”), Richard Sammel (“Inglourious Basterds”), Sean Astin (“The Lord of the Rings”), Natalie Brown (“Sophie”), Miguel Gomez (“Louie”), and more. The series was co-created by director Guillermo del Toro, who haas had a storied, acclaimed two-decade film career. Some of his previous credits include “The Devil’s Backbone,” the superhero film “Hellboy,” the dark fantasy film “Pan’s Labyrinth,” which won three Oscars including Best Cinematography and placed high on numerous critics’ end-of-the-year lists, the sci-fi monster film “Pacific Rim,” and most recently the gothic romance “Crimson Peak.” Del Toro has also executive produced a variety of films from the Spanish horror film “The Orphanage” to the animated romp “Kung Fu Panda 2.”

“The Strain” will return to FX for a ten-episode third season on August 28th.
