As is their standard, Marvel brought out the big guns at this year’s Comic-Con, with a panel that included new looks at upcoming features — like “Doctor Strange” and “Spider-Man: Homecoming” — and new information on others, from “Black Panther” to the next “Guardians of the Galaxy” feature.

But they may have saved the best piece of news for last.

The Oscar winner has been rumored for the part — including a standalone film and what we can only assume will be a number of appearances in other Marvel Cinematic Universe properties — for months, but now it’s finally official.

The Larson-starring “Captain Marvel” will arrive on March 8, 2019.
