Kevin Smith has made a name for himself with his edgy films, which feature his own unique ear for dialogue and off-the-wall premises. Recently, he has written and directed a trilogy of horror-comedies dubbed the “True North trilogy”; the first film in the series was “Tusk,” about a missing podcaster who gets turned into a walrus, which received mixed reviews. The next film “Yoga Hosers” premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and will be released into theaters on September 2nd. But before the official release, Fathom Events and SpectiCast will host a one-night only film event in select theaters on August 30th. The event will also feature behind-the-scenes footage from the set, interviews with cast and crew, as well as a post-screening Q&A with writer and director Kevin Smith and members of the cast, captured at the premiere in Red Bank, New Jersey.
“Yoga Hosers” follows typical teenagers Colleen Collette (Lily-Rose Depp) and Colleen McKenzie (Harley Quinn Smith) who are two yoga enthusiasts with an afterschool job at a Manitoba convenience store. One night, an ancient evil presence rises from the ground releasing an army of Bratzis, little Nazis made out of bratwursts, which threatens the Colleens’ invitation to a big party. In order to stop the Bratzis, they team up with legendary Montreal man-hunter Guy Lapointe (Johnny Depp). The film also features Justin Long (“Accepted”), Haley Joel Osment (“The Sixth Sense”), Tony Hale (“Arrested Development”), Natasha Lyonne (“Orange Is the New Black”), and Adam Brody (“The O.C.”).
