Werner Herzog’s latest documentary “Lo and Behold, Reveries of the Connected World” chronicles the virtual world from its unlikely origins to its outermost reaches, examining the modern, malleable digital landscape with a curious, keen eye. Aided by his indelible voiceover, Herzog speaks with such tech visionaries as Bob Kahn, Elon Musk, and Sebastian Thrun to explore how the virtual has completely changed the physical, and the ways in which our lives are forever altered by our connection to the Internet. Herzog probes the philosophical questions that lie not so far beneath the surface and takes a harsh look at the benefits and pitfalls of our new world. See some exclusive posters from the film below.

Herzog has directed numerous acclaimed fiction and documentary films, some of which are considered the very best in cinematic history. Some of these include his collaborations with volatile actor Klaus Kinski — “Aguirre, the Wrath of God,” “Nosferatu the Vampyre,” “Woyzeck,” “Fitzcarraldo,” and “Cobra Verde” — the harrowing documentary “Grizzly Man,” and the 2000’s double-punch of “Rescue Dawn” and “Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans.” He has also made numerous acting appearances on television, including in “The Boondocks,” “Parks and Recreation,” and most recently, “Rick and Morty.”

“Lo and Behold, Reveries of the Connected World” premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. It will be in Theaters, OnDemand, on iTunes, and Amazon Video on August 19th.
