‘Sherlock’ Season 4 Trailer: Benedict Cumberbatch’s Demons Are Waiting

With “Sherlock” set to return for a fourth season next year, Masterpiece PBS has released a new trailer for the acclaimed detective drama starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman. Watch it and a brief skit from Comic-Con below.

Cumberbatch and Freeman play Sherlock Holmes and John Watson, respectively, in a contemporary update on the stories written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The new season looks expectedly tense and ominous, with lines like “the roads we walk have demons beneath, and yours have been waiting for a very long time” spoken to Cumberbatch so as to remind us how much is on the line for our intrepid crime-solver.

“Sherlock” first premiered on BBC One six years ago and has aired 10 episodes across its first three seasons. Season four doesn’t have a confirmed release date as of yet, but a fifth season has already been confirmed. This being British TV, however, it might be awhile before it sees the light of day.
