The tagline “Nightmares come from somewhere” might not sound all that scary by itself, but paired with the extremely creepy teaser for the Syfy anthology series “Channel Zero,” it’s enough to give you a serious fright. The inaugural season of the show, “Channel Zero: Candle Cove,” is a six-part series based on Kris Straub’s short story from Creepypasta, and stars Paul Schneider and Fiona Shaw (“Harry Potter”).

The teaser reveals what can only be described as the scariest manifestation ever of a monstrous tooth fairy, which appears to “eat” several teeth off the hand of a young boy. Bloody Disgusting describes the show as centering “on one man’s obsessive recollection of a mysterious children’s television program from the 1980s – and his ever-growing, dreadful suspicions about the role it might have played in a series of nightmarish and deadly events from his childhood.”

Craig William Macneill is directing all six episodes of “Channel Zero: Candle Cove” for Universal Cable Productions. Nick Antosca (“Hannibal”) wrote the pilot and is serving as showrunner and executive producer with Max Landis. Syfy has already cast season two, which will feature “The Path” star Amy Forsyth, Deadline reports.  Season two will be entitled “Channel Zero: The No-End House.”
