This year’s “X-Files” revival has come and gone, but that doesn’t mean that aliens and other supernatural entities are disappearing from TV anytime soon. Fox is developing a pilot for “Ghosted,” which Variety says has been “described as a comedic sort of ‘X-Files'”; Craig Robinson and Adam Scott will star in the potential new series.

Robinson will play Leroy Wright, the cynical skeptic to Scott’s more paranormally inclined Max Allison. The Underground Investigative Service enlists the pair to find out what’s really going on when a number of inexplicable phenomena occur in Los Angeles; there are, of course, larger forces at work (which may not be human in origin) that might threaten mankind. Robinson and Scott will both do double duty as executive producers on the single-camera comedy, which is created by “That Awkward Moment” scribe Tom Gormican.

Whether the two actors will become the next Mulder and Scully remains to be seen, as does whether “The X-Files” will return to Fox once more.
