The project premieres August 17 during a special event at the Theatre at Ace Hotel Downtown Los Angeles.

Still In The Cage Skrillex

Skrillex has had his fair share of collaborations on films, creating tracks for pictures such as “Wreck-It Ralph,” “Spring Breakers” and most recently the song “Purple Lamborghini” featuring Rick Ross for “Suicide Squad” (which probably featured more of The Joker than the actual film). Now the California-born DJ is teaming up with musical artist Wiwek and director Jodeb to release their new short film “Still in the Cage.”

The trio released the first trailer for the project a day before its premieres on August 17 at the Theatre at Ace Hotel Downtown Los Angeles. Set in Bangkok, the sneak peek shows a group of women who decide to run away from home to a settlement along a jungle river.

“Still in the Cage” is written & directed by Jodeb and has a pretty awesome score that draws inspiration from Wiwek’s latest EP, “The Free and Rebellious.” The soundtrack also includes Skrillex and Wiwek’s new song “Killa.”

The short will drop on Thursday morning, according to Skrillex’s Twitter page. Check out the first look below:
