Starz has had quite a bit of success with its original programming lately, with such popular and critically acclaimed shows like “Power,” “Outlander,” and “The Girlfriend Experience.” But the network comedy series “Survivor’s Remorse” has had great success lately. The series’ third season premiered this past July and has seen record increases in its audience, over 20% above season two and 60% above season one. The series has already been renewed for a fourth season.
From executive producers Mike O’Malley (“Glee”), LeBron James, and Chairman of the Boston Red Sox Tom Werner, “Survivor’s Remorse” follows Cam Calloway (Jessie T. Usher), a hardworking, young basketball star who is thrust into the limelight after signing a huge contract with a pro team in Atlanta. The third season has followed how the Calloway clan deals with the fallout from Uncle Julius’ (Mike Epps) accident and how tragedy can affect family as well as fame. The series also stars Erica Ash (“MadTV”), Teyonah Paris (“Dear White People”), and Tichina Arnold (“Martin”). Watch an exclusive clip from this Sunday’s episode featuring Cam and his cousin Reggie (RonReaco Lee) discussing how Dealer Joe has recently become clean.
Carmi Zlotnik, managing director of Starz, says that, “Critics have consistently called [Survivor’s Remorse”] one of the smartest and funniest comedies on television and we are delighted to see audiences embracing the characters and the storyline with that same enthusiasm…In the Calloways, [Mike] O’Malley has created a modern family bound by heart and humor, who remain completely relatable despite dealing with the ‘pro-money and pro-problems’ that come with Cam’s position as one of the top basketball stars in the nation.”
“Survivor’s Remorse” airs Sunday nights at 10pm Eastern only on Starz.
