Vote for July Project of the Month: Will It Be ‘True Blue,’ ‘Baobab Flowers,’ ‘The Golden Rut,’ ‘Sparrow’ or ‘Riverment’?

Which of these projects would you most like to see on screen?

The project which receives the most votes for Project of the Month will get a reported feature story about their project on Indiewire. From there, they will be in the running for Project of the Year.

Below are the five projects up for the prize. Click on the film title to learn more about each project (descriptions courtesy of the filmmakers):

Project of the Day - True Blue

True Blue: A pyramid schemer embarks upon his dark night of the soul in lonely Atlantic City. While drunk and morose at a karaoke bar, he meets a charismatic bodybuilder, who he thinks is going to change his life.

Baobab Flowers: A documentary about education inequality as a global issue in black communities.

Project of the Day - The Golden Rut

The Golden Rut: Austin’s finest actor is inspired to take his career up a notch when he falls for a beautiful, independent, business woman. However his plans are derailed when her spicy, eccentric identical twin sister pops into the picture.

Project of the Day - Sparrow

Sparrow: The beautiful story of a small boy who is teased because he thinks he can fly. When a family myth about his war veteran grandfather is exploded, he discovers strength to stand up to the school bullies in a very unusual way.

Project of the Day - Riverment

Riverment: A former civil rights activist copes with her traumatic experiences by sharing her stories with her granddaughter by the river. With her granddaughter wanting to continue the fight, will generational differences push them apart?

Voting will end Monday, August 8 at 6 p.m. ET.
