This September, Cartoon Network will expand the interactive world of “Mighty Magiswords” with its television debut. Building on the original 15-second series that launched on the “CN Anything” app last year, the TV series will continue to follow the adventures of Prohyas and Vambre, a brother-and-sister team of “warriors for hire” who embark on quests to add to their collection of trusted Magiswords. The series’ guest stars include Weird Al Yankovic (“UHF”), Jack McBrayer (“30 Rock”), Dave Coulier (“Full House”), Tom Kenny (“SpongeBob SquarePants”) and more.
The premiere episode, “The Mystery of Loch Mess,” will follow the warriors on a mission to locate missing deliverymen only to find themselves captured as pets. In the next episode, “Squirrelled Domination,” a rare food enthusiast sends the warriors on a mission to gather five golden acorns.
The series was created by Kyle A. Carrozza, who previously worked on the 3-D animated/live action comedy “The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water.” “Mighty Magiswords” is part of an interconnected world of more than 400 pieces of original content, including interactive shorts, narrative vlogs, digital games, and more. In addition to the television series, a unique mobile app will launch later this fall which will allow fans to watch and collect their own Magiswords.
“Mighty Magiswords is custom created for the way young audiences consume media today,” said Rob Sorcher, chief content officer for Cartoon Network. “This is about how stories can be told in new ways and how a community can play together.”
A special sneak peek episode of Mighty Magiswords will debut on the Cartoon Network app Friday, Sept. 2. “Mighty Magiseries” debuts on Thursday, September 29th at 6:30 ET/PT on Cartoon Network.
