Mere hours after exploding onto the scene at the Toronto International Film Festival, Ben Wheatley’s “Free Fire” partially arrives to the masses thanks to an exhilarating debut trailer, courtesy of A24. Wheatley has become a master of genre cinema over the past several years thanks to efforts like “Sightseers” and “High-Rise,” and “Free Fire” finds him putting his own violent, unique spin on the 1970s crime thriller.
Starring the likes of Brie Larson, Armie Hammer, Cillian Murphy, Jack Raynor and Sharlto Copley, “Free Fire” centers around a transaction gone bloody wrong. Entirely set in a warehouse during an arms deal, the movie finds our main characters forced to band together in order to survive the onslaught of bullets.
