‘Game of Thrones’ Season 7: Emilia Clarke Promises an ‘Epic’ Battle

Could it rival the Battle of the Bastards?

Jon Snow emerged from the “Battle of the Bastards” victorious, as did “Game of Thrones” itself — the HBO drama became the winningest show in Emmys history last night, racking up wins for Writing, Directing and Best Drama. Prior to that, Emilia Clarke offered a few hints as to what awaits in next year’s seventh season, including “another battle that’s epic.” See her full remarks below.

The red-carpet interview with TVLine follows tweets from castmate Maisie Williams advising “Thrones” viewers to “start preparing yourselves now” because “shit gets REAL.” No one familiar with the show will doubt its capacity to shock and surprise. “It’s ridiculous,” Clarke added. If anyone came on to any day of ‘Game of Thrones,’ it’d be a spoiler. Every single word is a spoiler almost.”

Pressed by the interviewer, who pointed out the intensity of the show’s most recent season, Khaleesi herself said simply that “they topped it.” In a break from the fantasy drama’s springtime tradition, “Game of Thrones” season seven will premiere next summer.
